I walk through an oaken
wood To the place where you once
stood. A sea of leaves beneath my
feet, Up to the sky a sunlit
sheet. |
A stream leads me to a
steep hill side Where fairies dance and
pixies glide, A golden tower at the
waters end Tops the hill and I start
to ascend. |
I fall back into a hole in
the ground, through A dream darkened, distant
drumming sound Till I break through a wall
of light, Eyes blinded by the
brilliant sight. |
I land in a sea of mud, Echoes ring round of the
gurgling thud. I’m lying on a strawberry
bed ‘What is your wish?’ a genie
says. |
Before I chance to make a
reply, Above a starlit town I fly. Down I swoop to a house
below Protruding from the
glistening snow. |
Through the window and into
the room, I must rest before the
morning gloom. Daylight fills me with a
horrid fright, I’m all alone until
tomorrow night! |
